Terms of Business

We will usually quote rather than estimate. Some traders give estimates and in

many cases this is legitimate but be careful, a quote has some legal weight, an

estimate does not. We will only estimate when it is impossible to determine the

precise tasks and materials involved without carrying out physical work.

Where we do estimate and additional work becomes necessary, we will only charge

for any required additional plant hire, any additional materials and for our additional

time on a per hour basis (The rates of which you will be informed of prior to any work

commencing). The main cause of the need for estimation is ground conditions!

We prefer to quote for labour only but the choice is yours and we are happy to

supply materials too if required. Unless your job is expected to take more than 2

weeks, we dont usually take any payment for labour until completion but any agreed

plant hire or materials must be paid for on their arrival on site. For jobs lasting

longer than 2 weeks, we will agree a stage payment schedule with you. We can't

accept card payments at the moment unless you have a paypal account. We do

accept cheques, but prefer cash payments where possible.

We are happy to guarantee the quality of our workmanship and give a variety of

guarantees depending on the nature of the job. For example, an extension to your

home would have a longer guarantee than the installation of wooden fencing in your

garden. Our guarantees are on our labour. Obviously, defective materials are

covered by manufacturers guarantees.
